derby girl
Written by Smashimi. Steelia Thunder is a hard-hitting, pace-setting pivot by night and a sculptor/jewelry designer by day. She can often be seen wearing tattered and holey clothing with paint splashed all over it and welding leathers - a drastic change from her sexy, pink, waitress-inspired uniform of the PrissKilla Prezleys.

Written by Angelina Rolie. Memphis Magazine December 2005 issue features Stamatia Jewelry Design: "Local metalsmith Sarah Hiles' miniature sculptures are based on traditional European ironwork - tapers, scrolls and flares. But instead of architectural or decorative elements on a building, Hiles' work is shown to best advantage on the human body. Her signature earrings come in a variety of styles, and are all gracefully minimal and wonderfully modern." Click link below to view article and pictures.

what’s in a name?
Pronounced Stama (rhymes with drama) -TEE-Ah. Stamatia Michalas was my great-grandmother’s name, and Stamatia is also my mother’s middle name. A little family history and inspiration…
